Each dot is a USGS gauge, colored by how today's flow compares to the same week of the year over the past decade. Red rivers are running unusually dry; blue rivers are unusually high — useful for drought tracking, fishing, and paddling. Updated every 15 minutes.
Percentiles are computed per gauge from ~10 years of USGS daily mean streamflow, by week of the year. Gauges with less than 8 years of record are not shown. This view continues the spirit of the retired USGS WaterWatch streamflow maps.
Provisional data: Real-time readings are provisional and subject to revision by the USGS — sensors can be affected by ice, debris, or equipment malfunction. Do not rely on this site for decisions involving personal safety; follow official guidance from the National Weather Service and local authorities.
